I think few americans are aware WHY some of the Iranian people are against the US. In 1951 Iran was the most democratic country in the Arab world, and nationalized the oil reserves (before that, Iran got 16%, Britian and the US got the rest).

I'm missing where this was an "attack" or "violent". Unless varied sex crimes get a graduated sentence based on severity there is no disincentive for the perp to not escalate the attack.

Scot- If and when tyranny comes to your door in uniform, it is likely to be armed with a whole lot more than handguns and rifles. Unless, as is more likely, it is the local police. Need we go into what happens when you take up arms against the police?

Obama addressed muslims, but not extremists. You need to recognize the difference. The world population of Muslims is between 1 and 1.8 billion. Only a small percentage have serious issues with the US. If we treat all Muslims as enemies we've got more enemies than we can possibly handle.

Harvard didn't say she was not responsible, her attorney says so. The police didn't say she wasn't involved, only that she's not charged at this time.

innocent until proven guilty is a different deal that enrollment in school, indeed, one could think of circumstances under which she might be expelled, or have expulsion pending even though there is not yet sufficient evidence to charge her with a crime.

I myself have read several of her decisions, and most of the speech in question, which was before an audience with the intent of encouraging latinos to particpate in "the system".

how DO you plan to "clean up"? I think the historical record shows bringing in totally new people results in some of the highest cases of corruption. That's revolutionary thinking: "after the revolution we'll have all new people in power"
